I don't know if anyone remembers or not, but in the Wrinkle household, we take it in turns to choose the colour theme of our Christmas Tree. Last year, No.2 chose blue, silver and white to be the tree theme. In 2008, No.1 chose pink and green, which proved a challenge, but ended up looking very pretty indeed. This year it was my turn, and I decided to go for brown, bronze, copper and gold.

The kids don't like it much, but I think it's looking rather nice.

I think it's looking lovely too. Very grown up.
Ours has developed a rather worrying Leaning Tower of Pisa look. Mr DC will be pressed into tree straightening service as soon as he arrives home!
It looks beautiful! Mine is very child like, I'm not very good at doing grown up trees, however much I try! :-)
It looks very grown up and sophisticated. Mine is always silver and purple to match the living room. I guess it will only change when we redecorate.
our main tree is always red with fun baubles like bells and santas and things but our middle tree is black with copper baubles and the copper is lovely
Gorgeous Kitty.
I used to rotate my 'posh' tree colours when we lived in the UK. Red one year, followed by gold and then silver. The assorted children (as in mine and the ones I minded) had a multicoloured tat-fest down in the hall. Since moving to Oz I have settled on all silver, white and clear glass. Seems to suit the very bright Summer light. In the absence of little people we no longer have the second tree.
Well, I love it!
I bought my tree today but it will have to wait til the weekend to come in the house...
Ours was decorated by the (increasingly large!) smalls with all the same old ornaments. All things considered it is relatively tasteful.
I think it's beautiful - they're very chic colours Kitty.
They are very grown-up colours and so, whilst the kids won't like it, it DOES look really sophisticated.
Tell those kids, Xmas is for adults not kids
Wow- you must have a great ornament collections going! Looks fabulous..I think gold and bronze sounds very classy!
The children are just learning to refine their taste. I think it looks gorgeous!
your tree looks gorgeous!
xx
Hi Kitty, just checking in with a second comment to ask if you got my email?
I love that you take turns and create color themes and this one looks rich and lovely. Merry Christmas dear Kitty....and to your sweet kittens as well. Wishing you all the BEST. xox
Thanks for coming and wishing me 'complaints' for the season! I hope you and yours have a wonderful time and the New Year comes in with a smile on his face.
Very Classy :-)
I do remember now that you come to mention it. Didn't you end up crocheting pink and green baubles 2 years ago??
Doesn't time fly?
Hope you have a peaceful Christmas and New Year
Bx
Now those are the kind of photos I'd like to take. Happy Christmas Kitty!
It does look very grown up and sophisticated. Our tree simply looks crowded, but then again, I like our variety of ornaments, and not sure how I'd cope with a tree without all those memories on display - Christmas trees are about the only thing I'm the least bit sentimental about, lol. Happy New Year to you!
Tis a very nice tree indeed Kitty

and wishing an extra sparkle falls on your tree tonight to give a lovely new year beginning! happy 2011!
Hello, Kitty! Many thanks for the lovely birthday wishes you left at my place the other day--so sweet to see you in the comments! :o) LOVE these sparking images with so much holiday glow... Wishing you all the best in 2011--LOVE & LIGHT, PEACE & JOY ((HUGS))
I love your tree- probably because it looks like the pics of mine (on my blog if you want to nose!)
This is a great idea! I like those colors and the overall look. yum.
Hi DC - Why, thank you. I trust you managed to shore yours up?! x
Hi Froggie - Child like is good! I think ours will be more childlike next year. :) x
Hi Gina - I'd never thought of doing the tree to match the decor of the room. In which case ours would be brown and green, so I was halfway there! :) x
Hi Peri - You have a 'main tree'?! And a 'middle tree'?! Does that mean there is also a 'small tree'?! I like the sound of your trees anyway - they sound lovely. :) x
Hi Sharon - Colour rotation sounds like a good idea. I also love the sound of the tat-fest :D I think your current arrangement sounds incredibly classy. :) x
Hi Dragonfly - Hope your tree turned out to be fabtastic. :) x
Hi Mrs Trash - My smallest small has lost interest in decorating the tree. Thank goodness his sister still wants to help, or it'd be just left to me. :) x
Hi Emma - Thank you very much. :) x
Hello potterjotter and welcome. Thank you very much - I guess it is a more adult colourway. It's all been taken down now, and my daughter is considering colours for next year. :)
Hey Malach - You are SO right! ;) x
Hi Jane - Yes, we have a couple of plastic tubs of baubles now, but many of them are home made (in that we buy cheap basic baubles and put our own coloured glitter on them to fit in with the tree's theme). :) x
Hi Anna - Awww, thank you. The children just enjoy the tradition of taking turns, and I think it teaches them about sharing and patience ;) x
Hi WW - thank you :) x
Hi Sharon - Yes I did. :) x
Hi Elaine - Thank you my lovely. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. :) x
Hi Nan - You're very welcome. A good 2011 would be a jolly good thing all round, don't you think? :) x
Hi Burby - I didn't crochet them, but I did make fabric little 'puddings' in the pink and green year! Hope you had a good one :) x
Hi Tilly - They are really quite straightforward shots. I'm just getting to grips with aperture sizes at the moment! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours :) x
Hi Kate - I think your tree sounds really lovely. In some ways I wish we had more of a 'memory' tree, but I guess the baubles do have memories themselves. Hope you all had a great time at Christmas :) x
Hi Sas - Thank you :) x
Hi Grit - And a very Happy New Year to you and yours. You are a constant inspiration. :) x
Hello Tracy - I still read, but I rarely comment. I just don't have as much time as I used to have. Hope you had a wonderful birthday, and here's wishing you, your OH and Charlie, a wonderful 2011. :) x
Hi Dana - I shall make it my mission to come and look at your tree! Thanks for taking the time to comment here :) x
